I’m taking a lot of you, including myself, to the olive garden. I’m from Charlotte. There are so many fantastic eateries. However, we decided to eat at…Olive Garden last night. I know some of you are going WHAT? However, it was close, we desired wine, and we didn’t want to move out of the way. Even though it isn’t a rural area, it is one of our favorites. We’ve been dining at all the local diners for years, but last night we felt like we should stick with a chain restaurant.
Why Olive Garden, Applying, Interviewing, and Training?
As I mentioned earlier, I attend Western on a full-time basis and take 16 to 20 credits each quarter. I was also working on an independent study as a content creator for the WWU Marketing Program at the time I started OG. I’ll just say that I’m always busy! Having said that, I was interested in finding a job in a different field to expand my experience and make more money for spending. At Olive Garden, that’s how I discovered who I am!
Growing up, Olive Nursery was my mother’s leaning toward café. Since the Italian restaurant served a lot of family meals, I assumed that since I knew the menu well, the setting would be familiar and inviting. I applied online, and within an hour I was scheduled for an interview. Before a decision was made, two interviews were held at my store.

If one of your favorite dishes was removed from the regular olive garden menu, you might still be able to order it from the Olive Garden menu. The staff is, of course, only one aspect of this job. The fundamental draw for me, before all else, was the opportunity to assemble and further develop my client care abilities. Olive Garden treats its customers with the utmost respect and doesn’t mess around when it comes to how they feel about their visit. The good news is that most of the people managers choose to work as servers are fun, outgoing, and social, all qualities that OG servers need. Although I had some unfriendly tables olive garden menu with prices, I believe Olive Garden does have a certain demographic of customers, and 85% of my interactions with customers were very pleasant.
Persuade them to buy a second beer, grind cheese like snow, talk about cars or travel, learn new jokes from a regular lunch-goer every week—the list goes on and on. As a server, one of my challenges was managing a sufficient number of tables to achieve productivity goals; frequently, I would lose track of time while engaging in stimulating conversation with a guest. However, I did not feel any remorse at all because I had fond childhood memories of the helpful servers at Olive Garden, and I made sure that persona was upheld strongly in each transformation.
You can still eat light by going to Olive Garden from time to time. The Eternal salad and minestrone are always on my menu. That is not a problem at all! I usually eat a few breadsticks, a lot of salad, and a couple of bowls of soup! I’ll also order an appetizer or a glass of wine if I’m feeling frisky. Especially when I’m not trying to lose weight, that doesn’t seem like a diet killer to me. Yes, there is a lot of sodium, but that will go away after two days or a sweat session. We don’t let that stop us from having a good day. I have tried everything from “Oh my gosh, I will not touch that” to “How many calories are in that” without success. That is merely ecstatic and unable to sustain life. On Instagram, I respect comments and opinions, but I sometimes just ignore them. I’m sorry, but it’s true.
